Only One - Part 3

They left Damon to where Bianca lives. Will Kira like her new home?

Kira and Bianca waved as they left for their home. Bianca was nervous the whole time and when Kira asked she denied anything was wrong.

    “Ah come on. You gotta tell me what’s upsetting you. We are room mates after all so we better get along.”

    “Well, he was nice and all but that house was extreme! Could you imagine living there? It would be $50 000 a day to rent that place and you turned him down! He was giving it away to you for FREE! I was going to jump on that offer but that would be rude so I kept my mouth shut. I can’t believe it! Are all you country people so polite? For FREE! My mind aches.”

    “I didn’t expect you to ramble like that.”

    “I’m one serious talker once you get to know me and uh...ahem…”

    “What?”

    “He was staring at you with big googly eyes.”

    “So?”

    “He likes you very much. His heart must have stopped when he saw you. He really missed you if he wanted to follow you to your place and inviting you to stay at his whenever you wanted.”

    “We’re just friends.”

    “He doesn’t see it like that. He feels he needs to impress you so you will fall in love with him.”

    “Damon isn’t like that. We are childhood buddies and that’s all we will ever be. I can’t see him as anything more.”

Bianca kicked a rock

    “Well, you’re smart. I went through a lot of dates and nothing became positive about it.”

    “Do share.”

    “I’ll save my tales for another time. Right now we have to figure out who is cleaning and who is cooking tonight.”

    “Cooking is my specialty.”

   “Thank goodness because all I can do is reheat takeout.”

After a few more blocks they made it to a tiny home hardly fit for one child rather than two young adults. Bianca gave Kira the extra set of keys and unlocked the front door. Kira was expecting the inside to be as grimy and worn out as the outside but was surprised to see new furnishings and a neat layout. The front door led into the living room and the kitchen. From the kitchen was the hallway to where the bedrooms and bathroom were.

    “Here’s our home! How’d you like it?”

    “I could get used to this.”

    “Your luggage came in the mail and I stored it in your room. Feel free to wander around.”

    “Perhaps I should cook supper first?”

    “Nonsense! Go and explore.”

   “Alright, but when I’m done we’re gonna have crab burgers.”

   “Sounds good.”

Only One - Part 2

Second part is released and the first boy introduced! Who is this new character?

Yes, there will be a love triangle between a lazy boy, an energetic boy, and poor little Kira caught in between their rivalry.

They left the premises with a happy Kira and shocked Bianca. They made it halfway to Bianca’s house when a voice piped up.

    “KIRA! Hey! It’s you, isn’t it?”

A boy inkling appeared with a giant grin on his face. His outfit was very disorganized and seemed like he threw on whatever he had.

    “Don’t you recognize me, Kira?”

    “Are you Damon?”

    “Yeah! I knew you would recognize me for my awesome vibes. Who else could have such charm?”

    “Oh, Kira. I didn’t know you had friends here.”

    “I didn’t know either. This is Damon who moved away from home two years ago. He was supposed to call and tell me where he moved to.”

    “I wanted it to be a surprise. I knew you were going to move to Inkopolis because you were frustrated with the farm.”

    “Still, you should’ve told me sooner.”

His gaze lingered on her face for a few more seconds, considering her emotions, before speaking again.

    “I have my own apartment here if you needed to stay.”

    “I already have a room with Bianca so that isn’t necessary. Where do you live?”

    “Just around the corner. I’ll show you.”

They followed him down the block and up the front steps of a gorgeous two-story condo.

    “You live here?!” Bianca exclaimed.

    “Yeah…? Why do you ask?”

    “This is like...right next to the Inkopolis Tower, home of the turf wars! This must cost you a fortune to rent such a big place!”

    “Nah, because I own it.”

If Bianca’s jaw dropped earlier; then it completely dug into the ground now.

    “How?”

    “I have a cousin who is letting me use his house while he’s on vacation so technically I own it.”

    “Won’t he get mad if you let other people use it? It’s not yours.”

    “He doesn’t mind. He’s so laid back I don’t think he feels emotions. Anyways, I’ll walk you back to your house.”

    “Don’t try to cover it up. You just want to see where I’m living.”

    “Okay, you found me out, but I’m still coming. I have to make sure you have food in the fridge and running water…”

    “Don’t worry about me, Damon. I haven’t unpacked yet so there is almost no point in coming.”

    “Well, I’ll see you later, Kira. It was nice to see you again and I hope you’ll stop by my house sometime. I’d love to take you out for supper or a battle.”

    “Until next time!”

Good day, ladies and gents! Here is the promised first page of my story. I'm excited to present a narrative that could be driven by the viewers themselves. I'll gladly take suggestions and answer questions : )

    “Wow! Inkopolis is a LOT bigger than I imagined!”

    “Calm down, Kira. I know you’re excited to head straight to turf wars but you can’t go in there looking like that.”

    “Like what?”

    “For one thing, you are still in your farming clothes. Didn’t I tell you to change on the subway ride here?”

    “I thought maybe the smell would drive opponents away…”

The girl named Bianca pointed to the direction of Booyah Base.

    “There is where you need to go to freshen up. Come on, we shouldn’t waste daylight.”

The two girls headed to the most famous shopping mall. Bianca was born and raised in the city so she had a membership. Unlike Kira, who was a farmer in one of the villages, she knew everything about navigating the city and staying fresh. Bianca wasn’t a long time friend of Kira’s but rather a recent acquaintance she met online. She was willing to give up a bedroom for whoever wanted to stay in Inkopolis and Kira gladly obliged.

    “Look, this shirt is your size.”

    “I don’t know, it doesn’t seem my type.”

    “Your type? Do you mean the flannel you always wear is your type?”

    “How do you know I wear flannel all the time?”

    “I looked up your profile on Splatter Book. I make sure my roommates aren’t psychopaths.”

    “Okay...so pick me out an entirely different outfit! I want to experience the city look.”

    “Whatever you say...”

Bianca picked out a leather jacket, white sneakers, and a pair of designer headphones. Kira hesitated before taking the items back to the change room. She came out a different inkling.

    “Um...is this...fresh?”

    “It is for the kids with the right personality. I’m going to hunt for something more your style.”

Bianca searched for the right clothing before presenting it to Kira. She changed once more to discover she liked the new outfit.

    “A red checkered shirt, cream basics, and a paisley bandana really suit you.”

    “Thanks for finding these! They fit really well and are actually comfortable. How much do I owe you?”

    “Nah, I’ll get the bill. It’s a welcoming present from me.”

    “Thank you again! I don’t think I could pay you anyways.”

    “Why? How much did you bring?”

    “All of my savings which comes to about $3000.”

    “That’s all you saved?! Where did the rest go?”

    “Farming can be a harsh life when an unexpected drought occurs…”

Story Time!

     I'm writing a story based off the game Splatoon because I am addicted to it (if you couldn't tell XD). It's a story on an inkling girl's romantic life which develops after she moves to the huge city of Inkopolis. She is a traditional farm girl who catches the eye of her old best friend and a new quiet boy whom she meets during a turf war. How will the story play out?

     I'm going to release the first page soon. Maybe tomorrow? I'm still deciding on some of the names of characters...


    Also, I may be making a fan game. I don't know yet.
